He was convicted of causing Sorek's death, even though he was not present at the scene of the murder itself, because he was found guilty of his involvement in planning and assisting in the execution of the attack, as well as of additional security offenses.
The military court sentenced him to life imprisonment plus 15 years.
He was released on October 13, 2025, after 6 years in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip.
