He was convicted of intentionally causing the death of Dvir Sorek, an offense equivalent to murder in the West Bank.
He served as the commander of a Hamas terror cell that was responsible for planning and carrying out the murder in August 2019 in Gush Etzion.
Although he was not present at the scene of the attack and was not the one who actually stabbed Sorek, he was convicted of his involvement in directing the cell members and assisting in carrying out the attack.
In addition, he was convicted of two additional offenses of attempted intentional death and other security offenses.
The military court sentenced him to life imprisonment plus 25 years.
He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, after 5 years of imprisonment, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal.
