Muhammad Salem Abdullah Al-Badan

He was an employee of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports Affairs in the Palestinian Authority. In October 2008, he carried out a stabbing attack in the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem, in which he murdered an elderly man and injured a policeman. Policemen patrolling in a vehicle near the school in the area of Vardinon Street in Jerusalem ordered him to stop and identify himself. He presented them with an ID card of a resident of the Palestinian Authority. The policeman checked his details on the radio, and when they got out of the vehicle, he pulled out a knife and stabbed the policeman in the back. The policewoman hurried to report the location and details of the incident to the radio. At the same time, he began to flee. The wounded policeman pulled out his gun and fired several bullets at him. He was hit in the back, but he continued his escape, and on his way he stabbed Avraham Ozeri, an 86-year-old man, to death. He was captured by security forces and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released on October 13, 2025, after 16 years in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
