One of the senior members of Hamas's military wing, responsible for the murder of dozens of Israelis in bombing attacks in Israel during the 1990s.
A resident of Khan Yunis refugee camp. He was arrested in May 1996 and sentenced to 48 life sentences plus 38 years.
Among other attacks, he carried out the following:
● A suicide attack carried out on February 25, 1996 at the Ashkelon junction, in which one female soldier was killed and thirty-two others were wounded, ranging from light to severe injuries
● A suicide attack on Bus Line 18 in Jerusalem on February 25, 1996, in which twenty-six bus passengers were murdered and fifty others were wounded, ranging from light to severe injuries
● Another suicide attack on Bus Line 18 in Jerusalem that occurred on March 3, 1996, in which eighteen bus passengers were killed and nine others were wounded, ranging from light to severe injuries
He planned the attacks, was responsible for recruiting the attackers and equipping them with explosives to carry out the attack.
Additionally, he commanded a cell of operatives in Jerusalem to gather intelligence and lead the suicide bombers to the attack location.
After his arrest, he continued to direct a series of attacks within Israel from prison.
