Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi is an Iranian military and political leader, serving as the commander of Khatam al-Anbiya – the headquarters responsible for coordinating and operating Iran’s armed forces.
He was born in 1959 in the village of Aliabad in Rudbar County, Gilan Province.
In 1979, he joined the Revolutionary Guards. In 1980, with the outbreak of unrest in western Iran, he went to Kurdistan and participated in operations there. When the Iran–Iraq War began, he was sent as the Revolutionary Guards’ commander in the Sarpol-e Zahab area, and until 1987 he worked in intelligence and operations at various Revolutionary Guard headquarters in southern Iran.
From 1987 to 1991, he served as commander of the 16th Quds Division (Gilan).
From 1997 to 2001, he served as deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards Air Force.
From 2001 to 2002, he was deputy coordinator of the police forces, and from 2002 to 2005, he served as deputy commander of the Iranian police, and for a short period in 2005 also as acting commander of the police.
In 2005, he was appointed governor of Semnan, and in 2007 governor of Gilan.
From 2009 to 2014, he served as deputy for security and police at the Ministry of Interior.
From 2014 to 2016, he served as deputy for military, logistical, and research affairs at the Armed Forces General Staff.
In 2016, he was appointed deputy general coordinator of the Armed Forces, and in July 2025, he was appointed head of the Armed Forces Coordination Headquarters – Khatam al-Anbiya.
