Syrian Popular Resistance

The Syrian Popular Resistance is a rebel organization established on December 29, 2024, following the fall of the Assad regime. The organization has declared that its objectives include attacking military forces of Israel, the U.S, and NATO across Syria, as well as confronting the new Syrian government, which is based on the former rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. On January 31, 2025, the organization claimed responsibility for an attack on Israeli soldiers in the rural area of Quneitra, marking its first direct confrontation with Israeli forces. The organization is based on local resistance groups that have remained loyal to the previous Syrian regime, Iran, and Hezbollah.
