The group’s fighters are also associated with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and with former Fatah operatives who refused to abandon military activity against Israel after the Second Intifada. The faction’s fighters operate in coordination with the militant factions in the Gaza Strip under Hamas leadership.
