On October 25, 2022, he attacked Shalom Sofer, a 63-year-old resident of Petah Tikva, with a knife as he was leaving a store in the village of Pondok.
He stabbed him twice in the stomach and back. The victim struggled with him, and managed to escape from the scene and call for help.
The injured man's condition was initially described as moderate to serious and he was taken to the hospital. About two weeks after the attack, his condition deteriorated and he died from his wounds.
He was captured by security forces about three hours after the attack.
