Arrested on November 3, 2003, and convicted of causing death intentionally; shooting at people; attempted murder – hostile acts; conspiracy to cause death intentionally. Released in 2011 as part of the Shalit deal and re-arrested in 2024. He was released on October 13, 2025, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip.
