The offenses he was convicted of are: failure to pay a fine, causing death intentionally, membership in an unauthorized organization, kidnapping–coercion–false imprisonment, attempted murder, possession of explosive devices, weapons offenses, harm to regional security, assault [except against a public servant]. Sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released on October 13, 2025, after 20 years in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
