Arrested on October 29, 1998 for the murder of David Katorza with a knife in February 1998 near his home in northeast Jerusalem. The offenses for which he was imprisoned are: murder; conspiracy to commit a crime; stone throwing. Released on October 18, 2011 as part of the first phase of the Shalit deal. Rearrested in 2014 and returned to serve his sentence. He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
