Arrested on May 3, 1989, and sentenced to two life sentences and an additional 30 years in prison. Released from prison in 2011 as part of the Shalit deal. Rearrested in 2014 and returned to serve his sentence. The main charges he was convicted of are: murder; conspiracy to commit a crime; attempted murder; assaulting a public servant on duty. He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
