Musa Muhammad Salim Dudin is a senior member of Hamas and one of the founders of the organization’s military wing in the West Bank.
He was released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal and has since been involved in directing terrorist activities from abroad.
He was born on June 12, 1972, in the town of Dura near Hebron. He began his involvement with Hamas during his studies at An-Najah University in Nablus, where he was recruited into the organization’s military wing by Saleh al-Arouri.
He received tens of thousands of dollars from al-Arouri to purchase weapons used by Hamas members to attack IDF soldiers.
On December 20, 1992, he was arrested following an attack in which two IDF soldiers were killed and was convicted of murder.
He served 19 years in prison and was released in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit deal.
After his release, he was expelled from the West Bank and relocated to Qatar, where he joined the organization’s leadership.
In this role, he has been involved in directing attacks against Israeli targets on behalf of Hamas’s West Bank command and is also responsible for handling issues related to Hamas prisoners in Israel.
In 2017, following international pressure, he was expelled from Qatar along with other officials involved in orchestrating terrorist operations and subsequently moved to Lebanon.
