Arrested on November 27, 2003, and sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in the suicide bombing that killed Sergeant Moshe Hizkiya near Umm al-Fahm in September 2002. Released from prison in 2011 as part of the Shalit deal. Rearrested in 2014 and returned to serve his sentence. The main charges he was convicted of are: intentional homicide; membership in an unrecognized organization. He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
