Commander of a Hamas terror cell that operated in the Silwad area and carried out shooting attacks.
He was convicted, based on his confession, of the offenses of intentionally causing the death (an offense equivalent to murder) of Malachi Rosenfeld in a shooting attack on June 29, 2015, near Shvut Rachel, while Malachi was on his way home in Kochav Hashachar with three friends, returning from a basketball game.
He fired at the vehicle, Malachi was fatally injured and died from his wounds, while other passengers in the vehicle were moderately and lightly injured.
In addition, he was convicted of attempted intentional death, membership and activity in an illegal association, and additional security offenses.
In 2012, he was convicted of conspiring to carry out shootings against security forces and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
In 2014, he was held in administrative detention for being a Hamas activist.
He was held in detention in the Palestinian Authority from July 2015 to April 2022. On April 13, 2022, he was arrested by the IDF, put on trial, and has been detained in an Israeli prison since then.
