A resident of the Halisa neighborhood in Haifa, in January 2017, committed three shooting incidents in the city of Haifa, during which Guy Kafri was murdered and another person was seriously injured.
During his investigation, it was revealed that he deliberately carried out the shootings against Jews using a Carlo rifle that he had in his possession.
On 3.1.17, he arrived in the lower city of Haifa, where he identified an ultra-Orthodox Jew, followed him, and later shot and seriously wounded him.
While fleeing the scene, he fired another shot at a Jewish woman he identified nearby, without her being injured.
As he continued his escape toward his Halisa neighborhood, he saw Guy Kafri, a 48-year-old shuttle driver who worked there, and he shot him, causing his death.
He continued his escape, hiding the weapon with which he carried out the attack, along with other personal belongings, in the woods near his parents' house.
He was captured by security forces and sentenced to life imprisonment.
