Arrested on July 6, 1994, and convicted of murder through hostile acts; attempted murder – hostile acts. Released in 2011 as part of the Shalit deal. Re-arrested in 2024 during the military campaign in the Gaza Strip. He was released on October 13, 2025, after 1 year in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
