He was born in 1953 in Haret Hreik. He is married, a father of seven, and holds a degree in political sociology.
He began his professional career as a teacher of Arabic language and literature in public schools and was one of the founders of Hezbollah.
Over the years, he has held a series of positions within Hezbollah: he is a member of the Political Council, Vice President of the Political Council, and serves as the liaison and head of relations with Lebanese political parties.
