Jamal Abdul Salam Abu Al-Haija

Head of Hamas's military infrastructure in the Jenin area during the Second Intifada. Involved in directing and carrying out suicide attacks, and was also directly involved in directing all terror activities in the West Bank while maintaining contact with Hamas leaders in the West Bank and with command elements in the Gaza Strip and Syria. He was born in the Jenin refugee camp and began his path in Hamas in the late eighties, gaining experience and status over the years. In 2005, he was sentenced to 9 cumulative life sentences plus 20 additional years in prison. He was involved in many attacks, including: ● A car bombing attack near the Hadera mall that occurred on November 22, 2000, in which 2 civilians were killed and 64 others were wounded ● A car bombing attack on Herzl Street in Netanya that occurred on January 1, 2000, in which 35 civilians were wounded ● In May 2001, an explosive device detonated near Qabatiya during its preparation. This was planned as a combined attack involving mortars, explosives, and ambush shooting ● An attack at the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem that occurred on August 9, 2001, in which 15 civilians were murdered and 110 others were wounded. He helped shelter the senior members who were involved in planning and executing the attack, and the funding for the attack was transferred through him ● A suicide attack on Bus Line 361 at Meron Junction on August 4, 2002, in which 9 people were murdered and 48 civilians and soldiers were wounded In May 2002, he approached a resident of Sanur and asked him to lead a suicide bomber into Israel. His plan was to carry out a triple suicide attack using three suicide bombers, each carrying a suicide belt. Additionally, he recruited a suicide bomber and instructed him to receive a high-powered explosive device. Beyond being the commander of all military activity in his area, he was personally involved in carrying out shooting attacks against Israeli targets. During February 2002, he carried out shooting at IDF soldiers during their entry into the Jenin refugee camp, with no casualties.
