Issam Ahmad Mahmoud Zain al-Din

A resident of the village of Majdal Bani Fadel in the Nablus area. In March 2006, he participated in the murder of Eldad Abir at a gas station in Migdalim. Before the murder, he expressed a desire to carry out a suicide attack and die a martyr's death. He accepted his partner's offer to murder a Jew, and he participated in advance planning that included observing the gas station and escape routes. The night before the murder, he wrote a will together with his partner. On the day of the attack, he arrived at the gas station armed with a knife, and after his partner shot Abir, he stabbed him when Eldad approached him. After the murder, he fled to Nablus and from there to Jericho, where he hid until he was caught trying to flee the country through the Allenby Crossing. During his interrogation by the Shin Bet, he confessed to his actions. He was released on October 13, 2025, after 19 years in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
