The main charges he was convicted of are: causing death by negligence; weapons/ammunition/explosives; attempted murder; kidnapping/coercion/false imprisonment. He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
