A mechanical engineer, acted under the inspiration of the Islamic State (ISIS), and carried out IED attacks in Jerusalem in 2022.
The attacks killed Tedsa Tshoma, 50, and Aryeh Shchopak, 16, and injured others.
He studied the preparation of explosives and IEDs, built a laboratory for the production of explosives in the Ramallah area, practiced the production and effectiveness of the explosive, and located suitable sites to carry out his intentions.
On the night of November 22-23, 2022, he assembled three IEDs and drove with two of them to the Ramot junction in Jerusalem.
His intention was to plant two separate IEDs so that one would explode and attract aid and police forces to the scene, and after a while the second would explode and cause severe and widespread damage to the forces rushing to help.
Upon arriving at the scene, he noticed a malfunction in the delay system of one of the IEDs, so he decided to attach the two together to one powerful bomb, he camouflaged them near the back of the bus stop and returned to collect the additional bomb.
He attached the last bomb near a bus stop at the Givat Shaul intersection in Jerusalem and left the place.
At 07:06 in the morning, the bomb placed at Givat Shaul exploded while many passengers were there, including the murdered Tshoma and Shchopak.
About half an hour later, the bomb exploded at the Ramot intersection, injuring 3 people.
He was captured by security forces about six days later.
