Arrested in December 2009 after infiltrating Israel with two explosive devices weighing approximately 12 kg. He admitted during his interrogation that his entry into Israel was intended to place them in crowded places in Israel. In addition, he intended to help kidnap and murder an Israeli soldier. Sentenced to 16 years in prison. He was released from prison on February 8, 2025, after 15 years of imprisonment, as part of the fifth phase of the hostage deal.
