On November 13, 2013, he fatally stabbed soldier Eden Atias on a bus at the Haifa Central Station. The offenses for which he was convicted are: causing death intentionally, stone throwing, illegal stay. Sentenced to life imprisonment. He was released on October 13, 2025, after 11 years in prison, as part of the deal to free the living hostages from the Gaza Strip. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
