Head of a Hamas terrorist cell that carried out a shooting attack near the Southern Command headquarters in Beersheba on February 10, 2002. The attack killed two soldiers and injured 31 people. He met with the two terrorists before they left, photographed them, received their wills from them, and gave them the weapons they used to carry out the attack. The last attack carried out by the cell under his command was a suicide attack at the central bus station in Beersheba on August 28, 2005. Dozens of people were injured in the attack. He was released from prison on February 27, 2025, after 19 years of imprisonment, as part of the seventh phase of the hostage deal.
