Haitham Mohammad Abu al-Ghazlan is a Palestinian writer, journalist, and political activist, affiliated with the Islamic Jihad Movement, with long-standing involvement in media, public communication, and Palestinian political thought.
He was born on August 10, 1974, in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, to a Palestinian refugee family originally from the village of al-Balad al-Shaykh in the Haifa District. He is married and has four children.
He completed his religious secondary education in Sidon, holds a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from the Arts, Sciences and Technology University in Lebanon (AUL), and earned a diploma in Media and Documentation in 2009.
Since the early 1990s, he has been active in the Islamic Jihad Movement, where he held several positions, including Director of the Bayt al-Maqdis Center in the Ain al-Hilweh camp, member of the movement’s Executive Bureau, and Head of Media for the movement in Lebanon until 2014.
He contributed to the founding of the movement’s central magazine and several official websites associated with the movement and its leadership, and later served as Media Relations Coordinator in Lebanon.
Alongside his political activity, Abu al-Ghazlan worked extensively in journalism and media. He served as editor of the Kol al-Watan website, Editor-in-Chief and Director of the Al-Quds News Agency website, is a member of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union, and organized and led numerous media and political conferences, workshops, and training programs.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Islamic National Congress.
Abu al-Ghazlan has participated in dozens of international conferences focused on the Palestinian cause and has published numerous literary and political books and articles.
