Sentenced to life imprisonment for his part in the shooting attack that took place at the Nablus Gate in Jerusalem in February 2016.
The attack killed Border Guard soldier Hadar Cohen, and injured another Border Guard soldier.
According to his verdict in the military court, he did not go to the scene of the attack himself, so that he could, as he said, "stay alive and kill Jews."
He was a partner in planning the attack, provided his accomplices with weapons, and on the day of the attack helped them reach Israel.
He was released from prison on January 25, 2025, after 8 years of imprisonment, as part of the second phase of the hostage deal.
A list of security prisoners and detainees designated for release as part of the hostage release deal, published on January 17, 2025 by the Israeli Ministry of Justice.
