Ahmad Vahidi

An Iranian military leader and politician, currently serving as the acting commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Previously served as the commander of the Quds Force within the IRGC, as well as Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior in past governments. In June 2025, he was appointed by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as the temporary acting commander of the IRGC, following the assassination of Hossein Salami in an Israeli Air Force strike – a position he held for several days. In December 2025, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the IRGC. In March 2026, he was appointed acting commander of the IRGC following the assassination of the corps’ commander, Mohammad Pakpour.
