Arrested in 2002 in the Jenin refugee camp as part of a terrorist cell that planned to carry out an immediate terrorist attack. He was sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder and aiding an attack in the Jordan Valley. He was released from prison on February 1, 2025, after 21 years of imprisonment, as part of the fourth phase of the hostage deal. According to the terms of the deal, he was permanently expelled from the West Bank.
