Sentenced to life imprisonment for his involvement in the murder of First Sergeant Assaf Fox in March 2003 in Kfar Sida. He was also convicted of aiding attacks in the communities of Hermesh and Metsar in which eight Israelis were murdered, and of attempting to carry out suicide attacks inside Israel. He was released from prison on January 25, 2025, after 21 years of imprisonment, as part of the second phase of the hostage deal.
