Ali Rida Abbas Hajj Abu Hussein

Ali Reda Abbas, also known as Hajj Abu Hussein Barish, was the commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force. He was born in 1964 and grew up in the town of Barish in the Tyre District of southern Lebanon. In the 1990s, he survived an assassination attempt alongside Ibrahim Aqil, and subsequently advanced to senior military command positions in Hezbollah, including advanced training in Iran. He served as commander of the Badr Unit, responsible for the area extending from north of the Litani River to Sidon. On September 19, 2024, during the Israeli Air Force’s Operation “Northern Arrows,” Hezbollah’s senior military leadership was eliminated, with the exception of Ali Reda Abbas, who was subsequently appointed commander-in-chief of the Radwan Force.
