Abd al-Hadi Muhammad Siam was a commander in the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
He was born in Gaza City to a refugee family originally from the village of al-Jura. He studied at UNRWA schools and at the Al-Azhar Institute in Gaza, and earned a bachelor’s degree in media and military affairs.
Siam joined Hamas and the al-Qassam Brigades at a young age and held a number of command positions over the years, including commander of the Shati Battalion, as well as roles in military intelligence, naval forces, and combat support. He was later appointed commander of the combat support apparatus.
He took part in fighting in the Gaza Strip during the Second Intifada and in subsequent rounds of conflict.
Over the years, Siam was the target of several assassination attempts and was wounded on multiple occasions.
He was killed in an Israeli strike in late July 2024, and his funeral was held in the Shati refugee camp in February 2025.
