Jaysh Al-Ummah

Jaysh al-Ummah al-Salafi fi Bayt al-Maqdis is a small terrorist organization operating in the Gaza Strip, identified with Salafi jihadist ideology and al-Qaeda. The organization began to take shape in the years following the end of the Second Intifada and Israel’s withdrawal from the Strip. Over the years, the group has claimed responsibility for rocket fire toward Israel, as well as fighting against IDF forces in the war that broke out following the October 7 attack. Its extreme ideology has at times led to friction with Hamas, but the group’s fighters combat Israel alongside Hamas operatives and other Palestinian factions.
