Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba Brigade

The Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba Brigade operates as part of the 12th Brigade in al-Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF). A pro-Iranian militia established in 2013 to assist Assad's regime in Syria. It is one of four brigades under the organization Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba. The militia split from the al-Fadl al-Abbas Brigade, and its commanders and soldiers are graduates of that militia. The establishment of this force was announced in July 2013, and its defined mission was to protect the area of Damascus International Airport.
